Hello people,
We realise we've not been too hot with keeping up to date on the blog so thought we would post one now!! We're sat in the beach hut, the sky is divided into a bit of blue sky with clouds and grey clouds... Just looked at forecast and its not great for the next week, big bummer :( It's nice on the other island Aitutaki for wed and thurs so we might go there for my birthday and then at least I can have a birthday in sun!!
The hospital is interesting, lots of chickens and cats running around.. 2 people have died on the ward since we got there (nothing to do with us!!) and they just don't even bat an eyelid really, whereas in England there's a big shibang if someone dies in hospital..One of them wasn't even ill and had been joking with us earlier in the day he died asking if we were boyfriend and girlfriend and that we'd make a lot of money together!!
Still cycling lots, its not so pleasant in the wind and rain... Forest lost today, Glenn is disappointed!! Come on you reds tomorrow, wish I could have some chips and gravy at OT with you!!
Going into town for a meal at a place called Trader Jacks tonight and then hopefully getting pissed after, but its so expensive here we'll be lucky to get tipsy!! Think that's one of the biggest shocks is how expensive everything is to buy, food and drink especially...crappy white loaf is £2.50..eating lots of beans and hoops on toast :)

ReplyDeleteJust read your blog which made interesting reading. Glad you are finding the hospital interesting, even if it is very different.
The cycling sounds great. An easy way to get around. There's two bikes here which could do with being shown the Shropshire hills when you return. Just so you don't get out of the habit.
Sorry the drink and food is so expensive. I'll get extra wine in for your return. Champers too!

here in Kefalonia - not as glamourous as the Cook Islanda but I bet its hotter! Hope you enjoyed your birhdqy. Arrived here in style - fainted while checking in and managed to damage my ankle!
